McLaren Greater Lansing and MSU Health Care are partnering on a new state-of-the-art Breast Imaging Center to bring a comprehensive approach to diagnosing breast cancer and streamlining treatment pathways, all in a comforting environment for patients.
The new Breast Imaging Center combines the locations of McLaren’s Breast Care Center and MSU Health Care Women’s Imaging Center into one convenient location. Features of the new center include:
- Four 2D/3D mammography systems
- Bone density testing
- Ultrasound units with elastography for breast exams
- Two breast biopsy systems, one prone and one upright
- Private changing rooms
- Convenient parking and appointment times

Breast Imaging:
- Do NOT wear deodorant, powder, or lotion to your appointment.
- Bring ALL previous mammography/breast ultrasound images performed at other facilities to your appointment.
OB-GYN Imaging:
- Drink 32 oz. of water one hour prior to exam time and hold bladder.
Biopsy/Aspiration:
- Discontinue blood thinning and/or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications 7 days prior.
Comprehensive Breast Surgical Clinic
- Clinical breast exams
- Consultation, treatment, planning, and surgery are options for women with abnormal breast findings from screenings and/or diagnosis.
- Under medical direction of Suzanne Hanses, DO, Jessica Henderson, DO, Troy Ferguson, DO, with other surgeons participating in this clinic.
- Referrals taken from primary care and specialty physicians. Patient may also self-refer herself to the clinic.
Accessing Services at the Breast Imaging Center
All women with breast health concerns are invited to contact us for breast care health, diagnostic testing, and treatment. The Breast Care Center can help with referrals, follow-up treatment and/or consultation with other medical specialists and health care professionals as needed.
Updating your primary care physician about diagnosis and treatment?
Your primary care physician is a valued member of your personal health care team, and we ensure s/he is keep them apprised of your breast health and treatment plan. Results of any diagnostic test, as well as a copy of the recommended treatment plan-for those women diagnosed with breast cancer-will be sent to your primary care/family physician, unless you notify us otherwise.
The Breast Care Center can help facilitate referrals, follow-up treatment, and/or consultation with other medical specialists and health care professionals and services as needed.
