A young woman’s journey with breast cancer

For one young woman at the prime of her life, a breast cancer diagnoses was the last thing Amanda Hofbauer expected. Diagnosed at age 32, Amanda was determined to fight this disease, which included coming to Karmanos Cancer Institute for a second opinion with Michael Simon, M.D., MPH., leader of the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary team at Karmanos Cancer Institute, and professor, Wayne State University School of Medicine.
