If you’ve been diagnosed with a hematologic irregularity, it’s important to be evaluated by hematology experts before beginning treatment. We can help.
Our Hematology Multidisciplinary Team includes hematologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, cytogeneticists, pharmacists, specialized nurse practitioners, dietitians, and social workers. The team is entirely focused on treating hematologic malignancies and shares its collective expertise to create a customized treatment plan for each patient.
Each patient receives personal attention from the Hematology Multidisciplinary Team. During your initial visit at a Karmanos location, a physician will review your medical records, medical history, and review your x-rays and pathology slides. The team meets regularly to discuss patient care issues and refine individual patient treatment plans. Depending on your diagnosis, our Hematology team may discuss your case with our Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant Team to ensure the proper diagnosis and treatment plan is determined.
