Actress Olivia Munn is one of the latest celebrities to reveal a breast cancer diagnosis. She had four surgeries, including a double mastectomy. She credited her OBGYN for having her take a breast cancer risk assessment after her recent mammogram came back negative, and her genetic testing results were also negative for 90 different cancer genes. Eric Brown, M.D., FACS, breast surgeon and co-leader of the Breast Cancer Multidisciplinary Team at Karmanos, joined 'JR Morning to explain why this test was crucial for prompting Munn's care team to schedule more subsequent breast cancer screenings, how Karmanos provides every woman who schedules a mammogram at its Women's Wellness Clinic a unique link to a personal high-risk breast assessment, and how knowing if you have dense breast tissue is important to understand your risk of developing breast cancer.
