Through clinical trials, we are creating new knowledge about how therapies fight cancer and provide national leadership in testing these new therapies.

Theresa Hastert, Ph.D., MPP, Population Studies and Disparities Research Program member at Karmanos and associate professor in the Wayne State University School of Medicine Department of Oncology, and her research team are recruiting LGBTQ+ cancer survivors and caregivers to participate in focus groups. She joined WWJ to talk about the FOCUS intervention and focus groups. The team hopes what they learn from the focus groups will help adapt the FOCUS program better to address the needs of LGBTQ+ cancer survivors and caregivers.
