Words of Wisdom on Caregiving from the Conner Creek Cancer Action Council
In 2016, the Detroit Conner Creek Cancer Action Council (CAC) was established on the Northeast side of Detroit. This group was made up of cancer survivors, caregivers and advocates from the Detroit Conner Creek community. After meeting for 18 months and learning about cancer and its impact on the community, early on the Conner Creek CAC indicated that there should be a resource for cancer caregivers, to provide information from a community perspective.
Through this document, the Conner Creek CAC hopes to help cancer caregivers to think about how important their role is in the life and well-being of their cancer survivor. This document is designed to assist with the complexities of the healthcare system and accompany you on your caregiving journey.

Patient Navigation Resource List from the Macomb County Cancer Action Council
The Macomb County Cancer Action Council (CAC) was founded in 2018 as an integral component of the Michigan Cancer HealthLink expansion. The group identified patient navigation as one of their research priorities to learn how patient navigation can improve treatment. To bring resources to patients in Macomb and surrounding counties across Michigan with information about patient navigation, the Macomb County Cancer Action Council has created the Navigation Resource List. This list will be housed on the Karmanos Office of Cancer Health Equity and Community Engagement website.
